Re: New here!
Sun, October 2, 2005 - 10:00 AMI needed to find this Tribe!
For years my advocation was fronting/dancing a Ska band with the intent to get people up & dancing Before they got drunk. I worked my ass off literally to dance hard with crazy moves so the audience would think "I can do that.... she looks like she is having Fun...." & get their booty funkin on the dance floor!
Oooh whee I miss our band/dance days.
& I am proud to say that there are many people involved in dance today bcz "they saw me having a good time" etc.
I've been 5+ years playing in another dance genre that despite it's 'sisterly' rhetoric I found to be more 'better than thou insecure politikin' the main background move.....
but I love the costumes; well loved the idea of color & individuality. The all the same 'cept the new look of the superstar til next festival & we all have that look; 'cept the superstars.... isn't explorable enough for me.
It's hard to be automatoms on the dance ;>{ for some~~~
I say individuality within the group works in a more Joy Vibe.
Maybe the everybody doin' the same move has developed out of the 'office mentality'. Worker Funkline Drive ???
